Edit iFeature files, placed iFeatures, and iFeature sketches.
Edit iFeature file
- Open an iFeature file.
- On the ribbon, click iFeature tab iFeature panel Edit iFeature .
- Add one or more custom iProperties to the iFeature. The custom properties are added to the custom properties tab of the part file consuming the iFeature.
- In the Edit iFeature dialog box, click an item in the table to edit the size parameters and position geometry data. Click the Limit item and select None, Range, or List to specify limits for a parameter.
- Click Apply.
Rename iFeature
- In the Extract iFeature dialog box, feature tree, right-click the top level.
- In the edit box, enter a new feature name.
The new name appears in the browser when you place the iFeature, but does not change its saved file name. To make the iFeature easier to use, give similar names to the iFeature file (.ide) and the iFeature.
Note: Do not use spaces and other special characters in feature names. It is included in the parameter name and can be used in equations when placing the iFeature.
Edit placed iFeature
- In the browser, right-click the iFeature, and then click Edit iFeature.
- In Position, click, and then click a new face or work plane to reposition the iFeature.
- To change parameter values, click in the row, and then enter a new value.
- To reorient the coordinate system, click the Move coordinate system symbol , and then move or rotate the iFeature.
Note: You cannot add or delete geometry or parameters.
Edit sketch in iFeature
- In the browser, right-click the iFeature, and then select Edit Sketch.
- Add dimensions and constraints to resize and reposition the iFeature.
