Create contour flange with offset or specific width

Define a contour flange using an offset width, or enter a value for the width.

  1. On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Create panel Contour Flange .
  2. When prompted, select an open profile.
  3. At the prompt, select a single edge. The contour flange previews along the selected edge using the default parameters.

The flange material thickness is created along the selected profile towards the material of the selected edge. To specify that the material thickness is created away from the selected profile relative to the material of the selected edge, click the middle button (under the edge selection box). To use the selected profile as the material mid-plane, click the right button.

  4. Use the default Bend Radius, or enter a value.
  5. On the lower right of the dialog box, click More.
  6. On the Extents Type drop-down list, click Offset, or click Width to enter a value.

The start and end vertices of the edge is selected automatically.

  7. To change the start reference, in the dialog box, click Offset1. Then select a work point, workplane, or face from which the flange is offset.
  8. Click Offset2 and and select model geometry that defines the ending location of your flange.
  9. To modify any Unfold Options, Bend, or Corner settings that differ from the options defined by Sheet Metal Style, select the dialog box tabs.
  10. Click Apply to continue to add contour flanges or click OK to close the dialog box.
    Note:
    • If necessary, click the right-pointing arrow for Distance, Angle, or Bend Radius to use Measure, Show Dimensions, or List Parameters to set values.
    • When defining extents, you can select planar faces that intersect the base face edge.
