Creates threads in holes or on shafts, studs, or bolts. Displays default thread depth and hole depth value according to corresponding thread type and size in the Hole dialog box

Thread
Location
Specifies the face to be threaded.
- Face
- Selects a single cylindrical or conical face.
- Display in Model
- Specifies use of thread representations in the model.
- Thread Length
- Defines extent, direction, and offset of threads. The standard controls the default value.
Full Length threads the entire length of the selected face.
Flip changes direction for threads less than the full length of the selected face. Length specifies the threaded portion of the selected face. Not available for full length thread.
Offset sets distance from the start face of the thread. Not available for full length thread.
Specification
Predefined thread types are specified in a Thread data spreadsheet (Thread.xls file) whose default location is in the Design Data folder.
- Thread Type
- Selects the thread type from the list defined in the spreadsheet.
- Size
- Selects nominal size (diameter) for the selected thread type.
- Designation
- Selects pitch from the list for the chosen thread diameter.
- Class
- Selects thread class from the list for the chosen diameter and pitch.
- Direction
- Specifies Right or Left hand direction. Used for thread notes, but does not affect size or thread appearance.
