Edit Model Properties

The CAD models inserted into Inventor Publisher documents usually have properties associated with them, such as author, company name, and part numbers. You can review the imported component properties, or author new properties within the Inventor Publisher document.

Right-click a part or assembly node in the canvas browser, and click Edit Properties. Then review the imported and authored component properties in the Edit Properties dialog box.

To author a component property, in the Edit Properties dialog box, click Customize Fields, add the property in the Customize Fields dialog box.

Tip: Use the Model Property Filter to select which properties to publish.

Access: Right-click a model in the browser or graphic window, and select Edit Properties.

Imported Properties Lists all properties imported with the component.

Authored Properties Lists component properties authored in the Inventor Publisher document. To add an authored property, click Customize Fields.

Enter a value for the custom property. Values inserted for parent components can override values of child components in the parts list.

Tip: Insert web addresses to custom authored properties. Web and Mobile output displays the property values as clickable hyperlinks.

Available Fields
Lists available component properties. Select a property, and click Add to show the property in parts lists.
Show these fields in this order
Lists property columns displayed in the parts list. To remove a property from the parts list, select the property and click Remove. The property is moved to Available Fields. To change the order, select a property and click Move Up or Move Down.
Create New Field
Creates a custom property. Enter property name and click Add to add the property to the Available Fields list. Not available when you access the Customize Fields dialog box from the Create or Edit Parts List dialog box.

How to work with custom properties
