Use this dialog box to select the set of ribbons, panels, and tool palettes that display each time you start AutoCAD Map 3D. You can switch workspaces during any session. If you turn off the display of this dialog box at startup time, you can change your default workspace from the Help tab.
Note: Although you cannot select Map Classic as your default workspace, you can switch to it using the workspace switcher.
- Planning And Analysis Workspace
- Customized for AutoCAD Map 3D commands. Work with both GIS and drawing data, and use tools for editing, creating, analyzing, and managing data. Most tutorials and videos assume that you are using this workspace.
- Maintenance Workspace
- Customized for those using an enterprise industry model. Work with industry-specific data models and use tools for creating, maintaining, and analyzing data. When you open a drawing that uses an industry data model, AutoCAD Map 3D prompts you to switch to this workspace.
- 2D Drafting Workspace
- Customized for those who are familiar with the AutoCAD ribbon and work primarily with drawing data. Use AutoCAD tools to edit both drawing objects and GIS features, and use the enhanced environment of AutoCAD Map 3D to georeference, clean up, classify, and analyze drawings.
