Make sure that the service you want to connect to is available and that you have the correct URL.
To connect to a web map service (WMS)
- Click

.
- In the Connect to Data dialog box, select OSGeo FDO Provider for WMS and click OK.
The Connection Editor is displayed to the right of the Site Explorer.
- Under Configure WMS Connection, enter the URL to connect to.
If you are connecting to layers that have been published to Infrastructure Map Server, the connection string looks like this:

http://servername/mapserver/mapagent/mapagent.fcgi?
- If the server requires a password, do one of the following:
- If the service is set up to recognize them, select Use Map Server Credentials.
- If the service requires them, select Use The Following Credentials and enter the userID and password.
- Click Test Connection.
You should see a Successful Connection message.
- Click Refresh to reconnect to the server and display the feature source information in the WMS editor.
- Click Edit Coordinate System to override the original feature source coordinate system.
- In the WMS Schema table, you can do the following:
- Schema column - This column displays the original feature source name, as defined in the provider’s schema.
- Image Format column - To choose an image format for which you want to set up an override, click a cell in this column.
- Server CS Code column - To choose from the available coordinate systems in the original feature sources on the server, click a cell in this column.
- Layer CS Code column - To reproject the data into a different coordinate system, click a cell in this column.
- Style column - To override the original feature source style, click a cell in this column.
- Background column - This column displays the original feature source background. To change the background to transparent, click a cell in this column.
- On the Autodesk Infrastructure Studio toolbar, click Save to store this connection resource in the repository.
Note:
To revert to the original state of a particular element, select it, and then click Restore.
