Walk Tool

To open the Walk tool, use the hotkey + X or select View > Camera Tools > Walk Tool from the panel menus. See Walk through the scene.

When Maya is in walk mode, the cursor changes to a multi-directional arrow and a heads-up display message appears at the bottom of the viewport.

The following table provides a brief overview of the Walk tool controls. For a full list of controls, see Walk Tool controls.

Important: When walk mode is active, the mouse controls the speed of movement and the keyboard controls the direction of movement. You must use the mouse and keyboard simultaneously to walk through the scene. For example, to move forward at a slow speed, -click + W or Up arrow key.
