When you customize Maya LT, your new settings are stored in preference files, so that each time you open the application, your settings are used instead of the default settings. If you delete a preference file, Maya LT recreates and uses the default settings.
Saving your preferences saves any changes you make to colors, hotkeys, hotbox marking menus, size and position of windows, and any items defined in the Preferences window. See also Preferences overview.
To save preferences
Maya LT does not detect if you are out of disk space when saving preferences. If this occurs, your preferences may become corrupt or irretrievable. Ensure that your hard drive has space available to save preferences. If the disk runs out of space, free up some space before exiting the application.
Most preferences are saved as text files of MEL commands.
Maya stores preferences files in the following path:
\Users\<username>\Documents\maya\2015LT\prefs
