Flow front temperature, mold-cavity result

The Flow front temperature, mold-cavity result shows the temperature of the mold surface at the flow front as it flows through the mold, calculated using the finite element method (FEM), for 3D analyses. This result is generated from a cooling simulation using a Transient Cool analysis.

Using this result

During a rapid heating and cooling analysis, the mold temperature cycles significantly from hot to cold and back again. As the melt flows through the mold, and comes into contact with the mold surface, the temperature of the melt is affected by the temperature of the mold. The Flow front temperature, mold-cavity result reports the temperature of the mold surface at the time the flow front touches the mold surface.

Tip: Make sure that the Part Tetras layer is showing, to see this result.
Important: The Flow front temperature, mold-cavity result is found at the end of the Flow results.
Note: Click Play (Results tab > Animation panel > Play) to animate the result, and see how the flow front temperature changes with time inside the mold cavity.
