Mesh tab dialog

The Mesh tab of the Solver Parameters dialog is used to specify values for mesh related analysis inputs for a 3D mesh types.

Number of laminates across beam radius

If you require higher accuracy in shear heating calculations or in predicting gate freeze times, you should raise the number of laminates across the beam radius.

To increase solution speed you may choose to lower the number of laminates across the beam radius. However, this only affects the beam elements of a 3D model and so will not significantly reduce the total 3D Flow solution time.

Mold-melt Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC) values (3D) The Mold-melt Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC) values group is used to specify the heat transfer coefficient (HTC) between the mold and the material. The HTC is specified as a boundary condition on the mesh used in 3D Fill+Pack and Cool analyses.
