The Fiber Analysis tab of the Solver Parameters dialog is used to specify values for Fiber orientation analysis.
Calculate fiber orientation using (Midplane/ Dual Domain analysis technologies) Calculate fiber orientation using (3D) (3D analysis technology) |
Specifies the model used by the Fiber analysis solver to calculate fiber orientation. |
Apply fiber inlet condition at | Specifies whether the fiber orientation calculation begins at the part gate or at the injection location. |
Fiber inlet condition | Specifies the inlet boundary condition of the fiber orientation state. |
Edge boundary condition | Specifies the way that fiber alignment is calculated in elements along the edge of the part. |
Calculate fiber breakage | Specifies whether to include fiber breakage calculation in the fiber orientation analysis, if the selected material is a long fiber-filled material. The default setting is No. If you set this option to Yes, clicking Fiber breakage parameters opens the Fiber breakage parameters dialog to edit options relating to the prediction of fiber breakage. |
Include intermediate fiber results | Specifies whether to output time-dependent results of both fiber orientation and fiber breakage calculations. This option is off by default. Selecting this option provides results data at each time step and produces a very large data set. |
Composite property calculation options | Opens the Composite Property Calculation Options dialog to edit options relating to the prediction of the mechanical properties of the composite, that is, fibers plus polymer matrix. |
Coefficient of interaction (Ci) | Specifies the coefficient of interaction (Ci) value that will be used in the calculation of fiber interactions. |
Reduced Strain Closure factor | Specifies the Reduced Strain Closure factor, which is used to model slow fiber orientation dynamics. |
