This dialog is used to view the properties of the selected thermoplastics material.
The Crystallization Morphology tab of the Thermoplastics material dialog provides data that describe the crystallization morphology of semi-crystalline thermoplastics materials. These properties are required when the option to perform a crystallization analysis is selected in the Fill+Pack Settings dialog.
The values of these fields are supplied by the manufacturer or measured by Autodesk Moldflow Plastics Labs. For materials in a Creating a personal database you can enter your own values.
Quiescent nuclei number coefficients | These values are measured constants in the equation that defines the number of activated nuclei in the quiescent condition. |
Equilibrium melting temperature (Teql) | This is the measured equilibrium melting temperature under zero pressure. |
Growth rate (Hoffman-Lauritzen) coefficients | These values are measured constants in the equation that defines the temperature-dependent growth rate of crystals. |
Glass transition temperature (Tg) | This value is the measured temperature at which the melt-to-solid transition occurs. |
Relaxation time at reference temperature (T_rlx) | This value is the time required for the material to relax after elongation, measured at a specified temperature. |
Free energy coefficients | These values are parameters in the equation that defines the nucleation rate during flow. |
Index (q_indx) for free energy | This value is a measured parameter that defines the enhanced nucleation due to shearing flow. |
Non-linear spring parameter (bFENE) for FENEP | This value is a constant in the equation that defines the change in free energy due to shearing flow. |
Parameter for Shish (gL) | This value is a constant that defines the shape of the crystals resulting from shearing flow. |
Parameter for shrinkage anisotropy (GL2) | This value is a constant that defines the enhancement effect on flow-induced shrinkage anisotropy. |
Viscosity modifying coefficients | These values are measured parameters that define the increase of viscosity due to the growth of crystals. |
Crystallization effect on specific heat (Cpcef) | This value is a constant that defines the effect of crystallinity on the material's specific heat value. |
Fiber effect on crystallization (cN) | This value is a constant that defines the enhancement effect of the presence of fiber fillers on crystallization. |
Ultimate crystallinity (X_Inf) | This value is the maximum value of relative crystallinity (defined as the ratio of the crystalline volume at a given time to the total volume) that can be achieved for the material. |
