This dialog is used to specify the advanced options for the second injection unit, which controls Material B for a Co-injection Molding or Thermoplastics Bi-injection Molding process analysis.
To access this dialog, ensure that you have selected either the Co-injection Molding or Thermoplastics Bi-injection Molding process and an analysis sequence that includes Fill or Fill+Pack, click
(), click Next to navigate to the Process Settings Wizard - 2nd Injection Settings page, and then click Second injection unit options.
Important: The three Material B fiber settings included in the following table are not effective simultaneously. The effective settings depend on which model has been selected to calculate fiber orientation, which is specified in the
Fiber Solver Parameters dialog associated with Material A. The solver must use the same model to calculate fiber orientation for both Material A and Material B, although the relevant parameters for the model used may be different for each material.
- If you specify a Moldflow model option using Ci/Dz to calculate fiber orientation, only the Material B fiber Ci options setting is effective.
- If you specify an option that includes the RSC model to calculate fiber orientation and Material B is fiber-filled, the Material B fiber Ci options and Material B fiber RSC options settings are effective.
- If you specify an option that includes the ARD-RSC model to calculate fiber orientation and Material B is long fiber-filled, the Material B fiber RSC options and Material B long fiber ARD parameters settings are effective.

Material B fiber Ci options

Specify the Ci value to use in the analysis if Material B is fiber-filled. Options are: -
Auto-calculated Ci
- This is the default setting.

Specify Ci if Material B is fiber-filled
- Type the Ci value to be used for Material B in the text box.

Material B fiber RSC options
|
Specify the RSC value to use in the analysis if Material B is fiber-filled and you have selected an option which includes the RSC model or RSC-ARD model to be used in calculating fiber orientation. Options are: -
Same as Material A
- This is the default setting.

Specify RSC if RSC or ARD-RSC is used
- Type the RSC value to be used for Material B in the text box.

Material B long fiber ARD parameters

Specify the values of the Bi parameters to use in the analysis if Material B is long fiber-filled and you have selected an option which includes the RSC-ARD model to be used in calculating fiber orientation. Options are: -

- This is the default setting.

- Click Edit settings, and then type the value of each of the five Bi parameters in ARD model to be used for Material B in the text boxes.
