This analysis sequence is only available for thermoplastic injection molding processes, with a 3D mesh type.
Mold temperature options
|
Select the type of analysis you would like; - Averaged within cycle
- represents a steady-state calculation, using the Finite Element Method (FEM) for calculation.
- Transient within cycle
- is used to show the temperature cycle in the mold as the molten plastic heats up the mold, then cools down.
- Transient from production start-up
- shows how the mold heats up over time with consecutive injections until it reaches a steady-state. Once this steady-state has been reached, the mold temperature cycles reflect the transient within cycle changes.

Cool (FEM) Solver Parameters
|
Specify whether to use the Conduction solver or whether to run a Flow analysis on every iteration. The conduction solver will be faster, but the flow solver may provide a more accurate simulation. The solver parameters are set here.
