Cool (FEM) Analysis tab dialog

This analysis sequence is only available for thermoplastic injection molding processes, with a 3D mesh type.

Mold temperature options
Select the type of analysis you would like;
Averaged within cycle
represents a steady-state calculation, using the Finite Element Method (FEM) for calculation.
Transient within cycle
is used to show the temperature cycle in the mold as the molten plastic heats up the mold, then cools down.
Transient from production start-up
shows how the mold heats up over time with consecutive injections until it reaches a steady-state. Once this steady-state has been reached, the mold temperature cycles reflect the transient within cycle changes.
Cool (FEM) Solver Parameters

Specify whether to use the Conduction solver or whether to run a Flow analysis on every iteration. The conduction solver will be faster, but the flow solver may provide a more accurate simulation. The solver parameters are set here.
