The Gates - Page 3 of 3 page is used to specify geometry information for the gates of the feed system.
Tip: To create a banana gate using the Runner System Wizard, specify a side gate by Length.
Dialog elements
- Side Gates
- This group of options is used to specify the geometry and dimensions of the side gates to be created in the feed system.
Note: These options are available only if you have placed one or more injection locations on the side wall of the part.
- Orifice diameter
- This box indicates the orifice diameter of your side gates.
- Included angle
- This box indicates the Included angle of the side gates.
- Length
- Specifies the length of the side gates by a length value.
Enter a value for the length, as indicated in the associated graphic.
Alternatively, you can define the side gate length by specifying an Angle value.
- Angle
- Specifies the length of the side gates by an angle.
Enter a value for the angle, as indicated in the corresponding diagram.
Alternatively, you can define the side gate length by specifying a Length value.
- Top Gates
- This group of options is used to specify the dimensions of the top gates to be created in the feed system.
Note: These options are available only if you have set one or more injection locations on the top of the part.
- Start Diameter
- The diameter of the gate where it connects to the runner (feed) system.
- End Diameter
- The diameter of the gate where it connects to the mold cavity.
- Length
- Specifies the length of the top gates to be created.
