Use the Options for 3D Mesh Diagnostics page of the wizard to specify which items or regions you want to focus on.
Note: Options cannot be changed during the diagnostics session.
Dialog elements
- Items to check
- Select which problems you want the Mesh Repair Wizard to check.
- Inverted tetras
- Finds tetrahedra which share a common triangle but overlap each other.
- Collapsed faces
- Finds zero-thickness parts in the model.
- Insufficient refinement through thickness
- Finds cross-sections which do not have enough elements.
- Internal long edges
- Finds edges of tetrahedra inside the part which are so long that they affect accuracy.
- Tetras with extremely large volume
- Finds tetrahedra which are so large that they affect accuracy.
- Tetras with high aspect ratio
- Finds tetrahedra which are too long and thin.
- Tetras with extreme angle between faces
- Finds tetrahedra which are too flat.
- Restrict to Visible Entities
- Forces the Mesh Repair Wizard to ignore elements that are on hidden layers.
- Isolate problem areas in a new layer
- Assigns the problem elements identified by the Wizard to their own layer for easier identification.
- Update diagnostics
- Reruns the diagnostic check after a diagnostic criterion has been changed.
- Search for flat tetras with interfacial angle smaller than
- Enter the minimum included angle value allowed between any two faces of a tetrahedral element.
The diagnostic will locate all elements that have an internal angle smaller than this.
