Runner System Wizard-Layout

The Layout - Page 1 of 3 page is used to specify the sprue position and the type of runner system, based on one or more injection locations set on the model.

Tip: To change the units of measure, click Application button > Options, and select an alternative from the General tab.

Dialog elements

X:
Enter the coordinate of the sprue in the X-direction.
Y:
Enter the coordinate of the sprue in the Y-direction.
Center of Mold
Click this button if you want to position the sprue in the middle of the mold along the X, Y axes.
Center of Gates
Click this button if you have more than one gate position, and would like to position the sprue in the center of those gates.
I would like to use a hot runner system
This option allows you to specify that hot runners will be used in the runner system.

Select this check box, and then enter the required parting plane and top runner plane measurements.

Parting plane Z
Specifies the Z axis value for the parting plane, as indicated by the number "1" in the illustration.

The default value is calculated automatically as you click on the Top, Bottom, or Gate Plane button.

Top
Click this button to display the Top runner plane position in the Parting plane Z [1] box, that is the parting plane position plus the maximum height of the part in the Z axis direction.
Bottom
Click this button to display the lowest Z coordinate of your part in the Parting plane Z [1] box.
Note: This measurement is taken from the bottom of the part.
Gate Plane
Click this button to display the Z coordinate of the highest gate in the Parting plane Z [1] box.
