The Preform Surface (Midplane)dialog is used to specify the properties of the selected Midplane elements or regions of type Preform surface (Midplane).
The set of property values defined by the dialog are saved to a property set with the description shown in the Name box. In addition, you may be given the option to also apply the property values to related entities in the model.
Preform | Allows you to specify the preform (fiber mat) material. If you need to make changes to an existing preform, select the preform and then click Edit. |
Preform orientation | Specifies the principal direction 1 of the fiber mat preform in global coordinates. The following principle direction 1 orientations can be set:
Note: It is recommended that you specify this orientation because, for an anisotropic fiber mat, the fiber-mat permeability in principal direction 1 is different from the fiber-mat permeability in principal direction 2, and the fiber-mat cross permeability may or may not be zero.
|
Thickness |
Specifies the required thickness of the model area represented by the selected element(s). Enter the required element thickness. |
Occurrence numbers | Occurrence numbers are used to specify the number of times that a given flow path is repeated in a model. Enter the required occurrence number. Important: If you intend to proceed with a Cool, Shrink, Warp or Stress analysis, you cannot use occurrence numbers. You must model the part in full.
