Optimization

Optimization analyses are those designed to assist the user in producing the best possible part. Optimization analyses enable the user to change parameters in a virtual environment and see the effect on the quality of the part, before any money is spent on its production.

There are two optimization options available.
Design Of Experiment (DOE)
Variables are selected and a range of values are specified for that parameter, the value defined in the Process Settings is the midpoint of that range. The DOE analysis determines the relative impact of these variables and recommends the optimal processing conditions based on the analysis criteria.
Parametric study
Specific values for the variables to be investigated are selected. Each combination of variable setting is run as a separate job. This can result in a large number of analyses and potentially take a long time to complete. For example, combining 3 values of mold temperature with 5 values of melt temperature will result in 15 individual analyses.
The results of a parametric study are presented in a table that can be filtered and sorted as required. Individual studies can be opened and investigated further.
