The Sprue/Runners/Drops - Page 2 of 3 page is used to specify geometry information for the sprue, runners, and drops of the feed system.
Tip: To change the units of measure, click , and select an alternative from the General tab.
Dialog elements
- Sprue
- This area indicates all the values available for the selection of your sprue.
- Orifice diameter
- This box indicates the orifice diameter of the sprue.
- Length
- This box indicates the length of your sprue.
Note: The default calculation originates from the maximum height in Z direction, the default runner diameter, multiplied by 10.
- Included angle
- This box indicates the Included angle of your sprue.
- Runners
- This area indicates all the values available for the selection of runners.
- Diameter
- This box indicates the diameter of the runners.
- Trapezoidal
- Select this option to indicate you require the shape of your runner to be trapezoidal.
Note: Selecting this option activates an additional preference for you to specify the dimensions of the Included angle. Alternatively, you can accept the default degrees specified.
- Included angle
- Specifies the include angle value for the trapezoidal runners, as shown in the illustration.

- Drops
- This area indicates all the values available for the selection of drops.
- Bottom diameter
- This box indicates the bottom diameter of your drops.
- Included angle
- This box indicates the Included angle of your drops.
