Setting Dynamic Feed Control locations

A hot gate pressure controller is used to simulate a Dynamic Feed system, where a pressure profile is specified on a node for each gate in the model.

A fill analysis is then run under pressure control. A maximum of 32 injection nodes can be simulated.

Note: A hot gate controller can only be set on a hot gate element. You may need to zoom up on the hot gate element before proceeding.
  1. Click Dynamic Feed (Boundary Conditions tab > Feed System panel > Dynamic Feed). Cross-hairs appear, indicating that the hot gate control location mode is activated.
  2. In the Set Hot gate control location dialog, select the hot gate control location property that you want to specify.
Tip: You can click New to select a new property, or Edit to edit an existing property.
  3. Click the cross-hairs on the hot gate on the model. A blue cross appears, indicating that the hot gate pressure controller is set on the model.
  4. Right-click the cross-hairs and select Finish Dynamic Feed® Control Locations.
