The Runner Properties tab of the Hot runner dialog is used to specify the geometric and thermal properties of the hot runner.
Dialog elements
- Cross-section is
- The shape of the runner can be defined by specifying the size, runner cross-section, and any taper.
- Heat loss into mold option
- The following options are available:
- Automatic
- The specified constant flux value is used. If a heater element is detected, the program defaults to the Use heater element option.
- Constant flux
- The specified constant flux value is used.
- Insulating properties
- The specified insulating properties are used to calculate the heat loss. The insulating layer conductance and the air gap can be defined in the dialog accessed from the Edit insulation button.
