Specifying when press compression starts

You can control when press compression starts as an optional input for an injection-compression molding analysis using 3D analysis technology.

  1. Click Process Settings (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings), or double-click the Process Settings icon in the Study Tasks pane.
  2. Click Next one or more times to advance to the Compression Settings page.
  3. Specify the Press compression starts option you want to use in the analysis.
    • At the end of packing. This is the default setting. Press compression begins at the end of the packing stage.
    • By time. Specify a duration relative to the start of the process after which press compression starts.
    • By % volume filled. Specify the percentage of cavity volume to be filled before press compression starts.
    • By ram position. Specify the distance the ram is to move before press compression starts.
  4. When you have completed all of the compressions settings, click Finish.
