The Gas-Assisted Injection Controller dialog is used to specify gas injection settings for a Gas-assisted injection molding analysis.
The collection of property values defined on the dialog are saved to a property set with the description shown in the Name box.
Dialog elements
- Gas delay time
- The gas delay time is the time from velocity/pressure switch-over to when injection of gas into the mold begins. If you want the gas to be ejected immediately at the time of velocity/pressure switch-over, enter a delay time of zero.
- Gas injection control
- Select whether you want the solver to automatically determine a suitable gas injection profile for your part, or whether you want to enter a profile manually.
- Gas injection control by
- Select the gas injection controller type you want to simulate.
The following options are available:
- Gas pressure controller
- Select this option to simulate the constant pressure process where the gas pressure is profiled during the gas injection cycle. This corresponds to the Battenfeld Airmold process.
- Gas volume controller
- Select this option to simulate the constant volume process where a preset volume of gas is available to be injected. No additional gas is supplied during the molding cycle. This corresponds to the Cinpres process.
After selecting a suitable option from the drop-down menu, click Edit Controller Settings to access a dialog where you can enter the gas profiling data.
