Cartridge heater dialog

Property Description
Cross-section is Select the type of cross-sectional shape you want to apply to the selected element(s), from the options in the drop-down list.
Shape is Specify whether the curve or beam element has constant dimensions [non-tapered] along its length, or is tapered. A taper can be specified either according to the start and end dimensions [tapered (by end dimension)], or by the start dimensions and a tapered angle [tapered (by angle)].
Diameter Enter the diameter for this component, for this specific analysis.
Heater control Select the method of temperature control you would like to simulate, from the options in the drop-down list.
Constant flux

A heat flux sensor measures heat transfer in a single direction, by measuring the temperature gradient between two thermopiles. The heat flux is proportional to the differential voltage registered. Constant flux provides a constant heat transfer. Enter the constant flux value in Wm².

Temperature

Enter the temperature, in °C, at which you would like to maintain the cartridge heater.

Time This option maintains the temperature at a user-defined constant flux. Click Specify, to open the Cartridge heater time dialog and enter the time, following injection, at which you would like to turn the heater off and on again.
Thermocouple This option maintains the temperature at a user-defined constant flux. Click Specify, to open the Cartridge heater thermocouple dialog and enter values for the thermocouple control. You can specify whether the thermocouple is located at the heater nodes, or at other nodes.
Time with target temperature This option maintains the temperature at a user-defined constant flux. Click Specify, to open the Cartridge heater time with target temperature dialog and enter values for time and temperature control. You can specify whether to extend mold open or mold close time using the cycle control option.
Name Assign a unique name to this cartridge heater.
