Constraints-General Constraint

This tool allows you to constrain nodes on a model before setting a load and running a Stress analysis. To access this tool, click General Constraint (Boundary Conditions tab > Constraints and Loads panel > Constraints > General Constraint).

The General Constraint General Constraint command is used to constrain any required combination of translational and rotational degrees of freedom at the selected node(s). The translational degrees of freedom can be set as fixed, free, or constrained at a certain distance (mm). The rotational degrees of freedom can be set as fixed, free, or constrained at a certain angle (deg).

Note: The constraints are applied in the global coordinate system unless a local coordinate system has been defined and is active.
