The Results tab of the Options dialog is used to select the default results that are listed in the Study Tasks pane after an analysis has been performed.
- Default results
- Lists all the results that will be displayed by default under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane following an analysis.
The results are grouped into folders by category, for example, Flow , Cool, Warp, etc. The individual folders can be expanded or collapsed by double-clicking on them. You can change the order of the entries in the list by clicking Order of Default Results.
To add a result to the Default results list, select the result in the All results list and then click >>.
To remove a result from the Default results list, select the result in the Default results list and then click <<.
Tip: A result that has not been added to the Default results list can be accessed by right-clicking on the Results node in the Study Tasks pane and selecting Create New Plot.
- Optimize memory for results display
- Provides options for memory optimization when viewing results on complex 3D models, or models that have a large amount of beam segments.
- Remove hidden frames from RAM
- Specify that all frames in an animation are not stored in memory after they have been created. This improves memory usage when viewing results for complex 3D models.
Note: Selecting this option improves memory usage at the expense of slowing down animation generation and display.
- Display 1D elements as segments
- Display all 2-noded elements in the model, for example runners, cooling channels, as line segments rather than the standard 3D representation.
- This can provide an increase in speed and reduce the memory requirements when viewing results on large models.
- Load 3D part surface only
- Display the 3D analysis only on the part surface. This will significantly reduce the memory required to post-process large 3D models.
Note: Incorporating a cutting plane will nullify any memory saved as the internal mesh is checked to create the cut sections.
- Second unit system for results display
- Display a second unit in the legend of plots values.
By default, the legend of results plots will display the result values in the program units you have selected on the General tab of this dialog. If you want plot legends to display the result values in a second unit as well, select the desired entry in this drop-down menu.
- Deflection query tolerance for results
- Adjust this value to achieve meaningful results.
The value entered here defines the deflection query tolerance, measured in mm. The default value is 0.01 mm. When you query deflection results, deflections less than the tolerance value are displayed as no deflection. You may need to adjust this value to achieve meaningful results. For example, you may need to set a larger deflection query tolerance if your part dimensions are large, or you may need to set a smaller tolerance value if your part quality criteria include strict deflection tolerances.
- Add/Remove...
- Opens the Add/Remove Default Results dialog, where you can select the default results to be generated and displayed under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane after an analysis.
- Order...
- Opens the Order of Default Results dialog, where you can change the order in which the default results are displayed under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane.
