To Lock to the X Axis When Measuring

To lock to the X axis when measuring

1. Click Review tab Measure panel Measure drop-down.
2. Click a Measure tool.
3. Press X, or on the Measure panel, click Lock drop-down X axis.
4. Move your cursor over the model in the Scene View and use the surface snap to select a surface.
5. Click the start point of the distance to be measured in the Scene View.

   The measure line turns red to indicate it is locked to the X axis.

6. Click the end point of the distance to be measured in the Scene View.

   The optional dimension label displays the measured distance.
