Assign Default Valve Operators

You can assign a default valve operator to a valve.

You can assign valve operators to a valve in the spec, in the catalog, or in the 3D model.

A default operator (for example: a hand wheel) is added when a valve is initially placed in the 3D model. Default operators are assigned in the spec or the catalog.

There are benefits to assigning default operators in the spec. In the Spec Editor, you can copy parametric operator assignments from one valve to a different valve. You can also copy assignments from one spec to a different spec.

Block-based actuators are created in the catalog or in the 3D model. In the 3D Model, use the properties palette to substitute or override the default operator.

Note: When you create a valve in the catalog editor, specify a ValveBody piping component type to support actuator assignment.
