Major fuels include heating oil, natural gas, propane, and other resources. The percentage break-down is based on usage (using a common unit of kBtu), not costs.
Annualized energy cost and consumption information can inform building energy cost comparisons and early design decisions. Costs are estimated using state-wide, territory-wide, or nation-wide average utility rates.
For this chart, energy usage is converted as follows:
- 1 therm = 100 kBtu
- 1.0 kilowatt-hour (kWh) = 3.413 kBtu
