Verification of reinforcement defined in Revit for a selected RC structure elements is performed according to a selected reinforcement design code.
Note: You can verify only reinforcement that was generated using a dedicated Revit Extension (such as Reinforcement of beams or Reinforcement of columns). It is not possible to verify reinforcement that was drawn in Revit.
To verify reinforcement:
- In Revit select concrete elements for which reinforcement has been defined.
- Launch the Extension from the Analyze tab on the ribbon by selecting the Analysis & Code Check panel > Reinforcement Code Check. In the Reinforcement design dialog, select Verify reinforcement in Robot Structural Analysis under the Operation type.
- Under Regional settings, select a design code and a rebars database to be used during the verification.
- Click OK.
Note: You can generate reinforcement in Revit according to the parameters you define (generation of reinforcement is independent of the code). As the reinforcement generated in Revit is transferred to Robot, it is adapted to the requirements of a selected code (for example, bend angles for stirrups). Therefore, differences may arise in the reinforcement geometry between the programs. However, verification is performed for the reinforcement generated in Robot.
It launches the Robot module using which you can calculate or perform a code-based verification of a corresponding RC element type (for example, RC beam or RC column). Geometrical data of an RC structure element and data about the reinforcement to be verified are transferred to Robot.
Subsequent steps for verifying reinforcement of an RC element should be performed in the reinforcement calculation module:
- Define loads.
- Run calculations / reinforcement verification (reinforcement of an RC structure element should be calculated).
- The reinforcement satisfies all code conditions - it is necessary to check results of verification in the Robot module dedicated to calculations / code verification.
- The reinforcement is insufficient - calculation errors display in a dialog, which also presents a safety coefficient as the ratio of the resistance to the current value.
- View results or generate a report after verification of reinforcement.
If reinforcement does not satisfy the requirements, activate the design mode in Robot using the Results > Freeze Reinforcement option. Robot then calculates reinforcement and generates reinforcement for the element. The generated reinforcement can be loaded into Revit if it is identical with the initial reinforcement that undergoes verification and exists in Revit.
