Use this option to define parameters of the main bar and the adjoining bars of varying inertia. Access the option by clicking the Parameter button found in the Adjoining Bar Parameters dialog (with one, three or six adjoining bars). The following dialog diplays:
A substitute moment of inertia of the main bar as well as of the adjoining bars is defined as the bar minimal moment of inertia, the average moment or inertia or a percentage of the maximal moment of inertia.
In the lower part of the dialog there are options that determine the cross-section from which the equivalent stiffness is adopted; the distance of that cross-section from the beginning of the bar is defined (a real or relative value of the distance).
