Design of reinforcement for selected RC structure elements is performed according to a selected reinforcement design code.
To calculate / design reinforcement for a concrete elements in Revit:
- Select the concrete structure elements in Revit (with or without the reinforcement defined); you can select several elements of different types (beams, columns and spread footings).
- Launch the Extension from the Analyze tab on the ribbon by selecting the Analysis & Code Check panel > Reinforcement Code Check. In the Reinforcement design dialog, select Design reinforcement in Robot Structural Analysis under the Operation type.
- Under Regional settings, select a design code or a rebars database to be used during the calculations.
- Open the Elements tab to view the list of positions to which that selected elements are assigned.
Click Save Report to save contents of the Elements tab. It lists Revit elements (Revit IDs) and informs to which positions they are assigned. It is useful when you want to return to Revit elements with reinforcement designed or verified in Robot.
- Click OK.
It launches the Robot module using which you can calculate or perform a code-based verification of a corresponding RC element type (for example, RC beam or RC column). Only geometrical data of an RC structure element is transferred to Robot (the reinforcement data is not transferred).
Subsequent steps for calculating reinforcement of an RC element should be performed in the reinforcement calculation module:
- Define loads.
- Define design parameters (calculation options, reinforcement parameters).
- Run reinforcement calculations.
- View results or generate a report after generation of reinforcement.
