Calculation Parameters Definition - Transversal reinforcement tab (Eurocode 2)

The Transversal reinforcement tab allows you to define the parameters of transversal reinforcement of an RC member according to the Eurocode 2 (ENV 1992-1-1 older edition with different National Application Documents and EN 1992-1-1:2004 with different National Annexes).

Dialog elements

Steel
Select the grade of the defined steel.
Stirrups
Defines the parameters of stirrup reinforcement.
  • Bar diameter - select the diameter of reinforcing bars for a stirrup. A diameter list in metric units is accessible.
  • Number of legs - specify the number of legs of stirrups,
  • Inclination - specify the angle between longitudinal and transversal reinforcement; a list of choice contains the following angle values: 90, 65,5 and 45 degrees.
  • Number of reinforcement sections - specify the maximum number of sections to which stirrup spacings are assigned. For each section a spacing of stirrups is uniform.
  • Modularity of spacings - specify the list of stirrup spacings by modularity value. If a Modularity of spacings is defined as 2" , the accessible spacings are 2,4,6,8 etc., and for Modularity of spacings as 0,5", the accessible spacings are 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2.0...
  • List of spacings - specify the list of defined stirrup spacings not linked with any modular value for element reinforcement. For example 1 ,2 ,3 ,6 , and 9.
Calculation method
Select the calculation method from the following options:
  • standard - a standard truss method 4.3.2.4.3,
  • strut inclinations - a truss method with diagonals with variable inclination angle 4.3.2.4.4.
Note: This option is available for the ENV 1992-1-1 older edition code with different National Application Documents.
