Installation Requirements

To use this service pack, Simulation CFD 2015 must already be installed on the system. This service pack installs over the existing Simulation CFD installation.

Important: Service Pack 3 requires installation of Service Pack 2. When using Autodesk® Application Manager, previous service packs automatically install with Service Pack 3. If you install manually, please install Service Pack 2 before installing Service Pack 3.

• Autodesk® Simulation CFD supports the following operating systems:
  • Windows 8 and 8.1 Enterprise x64
  • Windows® 7 Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate (SP0 or SP1 for x64)
  • HPC operating systems (Solver only): Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012. (Not applicable to Simulation CFD 2015 360)
    Note: Windows Server 2008 is not supported. Simulation CFD 2015 is verified to neither install nor operate on Windows Server 2008.
• Verify that you have administrator privileges on your local machine to install Autodesk® Simulation CFD 2015.

Installation Instructions

Autodesk® recommends automatic installation of service packs.

Note: When installation is complete, the version number displayed in the About dialog is 15.3.

Automatic Install

Use the Autodesk® Application Manager to install available service packs.

Manual Install

Download Autodesk® Simulation CFD 2015 Service Pack 3 here. To install the service pack:

1. Log in to the computer using an account with Administrator privileges.
2. Exit any Autodesk® programs, as well as other CAD programs, that are currently running.
3. Navigate to the service pack file, right click on it, and select Run as Administrator.
4. On the dialog box that states that CFD 2015 Server is running, you can click Ignore and reboot after the installation is complete. (Not applicable to Simulation CFD 2015 360)
   Note: To avoid the reboot warning dialog, cancel and exit the install. On the Start menu, click Autodesk Simulation CFD 2015Simulation CFD 2015 Server Manager and select Stop. Begin the installation process again and, when complete, return to the server manager dialog and click Start to restart the server.

Uninstall Instructions

If you should need to uninstall the service pack perform the following steps:

1. Verify that Autodesk® Simulation CFD is not running.
2. Open the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel).
3. Select Programs > Programs and Features.
4. Click on View installed updates in the menu column on the left.
5. Select Autodesk Simulation CFD 2015 SP3. Note that the Version number of the service pack is 15.3.
6. Click Uninstall/Change to uninstall the service pack.

Note: If you uninstall the service pack, it will no longer show as available for reinstallation through the Autodesk® Application Manager. Use the manual installation procedure to reinstall the service pack without using the Application Manager.

Issues Addressed in the Service Pack

• POODLE security issues.
• Models setup with DR shells have flow rates that are too high.
  Note: This issue is most apparent with flow active and symmetry/slip boundary conditions
