Copy Design–Apply a Rule Set to a Copy Operation (Vault 2015 R2)

After configuring a rule set, you can apply it to copy operations.

Important: This topic is intended for Vault 2015 R2 users. Vault 2015 users should see the original Copy Design help topics.

1. After you have added files to the Copy Design list, click the Rule Set button on the Copy Design toolbar to toggle between using a rule set or ignoring any rule sets.
• Turned On

  Select a rule set from the drop-down menu.

  

  If no rule set is created, then the default rule set is used.

  If the Toggle is turned on but no rule set is specified in the drop-down menu, the rule set that was last used is applied to the current copy operation.

• Turned Off

  Rule sets are ignored for this copy operation. All source file properties are applied to the destination files. If configured, category and numbering schemes are applied to the destination files as well. However, the state and revision of the destination file are always reset.

2. Finishing configuring your copy operation and click Create Copy .

   If a rule set is assigned and the conditions defined in the rule set are met, the file properties and behavior settings determined by the rule set are applied to the destination files.
