Change Views

There are three different views for displaying content in the thin client:

  1. Grid displays content in a table layout with column headers.
  2. Tile displays content as large thumbnails. While the configured properties are not displayed with the thumbnail, the view can be sorted based on a property selected in the Sort by list.
  3. Planks displays content as large thumbnails with properties alongside. The view can be sorted based on a property selected in the Sort by list.

Sort

You can sort the contents of any view. You can sort in ascending or descending order based on any property configured for that view.

Filter BOM View (Vault 2015 R2 Only)

You can filter whether ON rows or OFF rows only show in the BOM view. In addition, you can specify whether the BOM view displays non-released items.

Note: Your administrator must grant you permission to see both ON and OFF rows and non-released items for the filter to permit these controls.
  1. Select an item and click any BOM view.
  2. Click Filter to restrict which types of items are displayed in the BOM.
  3. Turn on or Turn off the settings for each filter option.
  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

Toggle Item History View (Vault 2015 R2 Only)

If the administrator has allowed you to see all versions of an item, you can toggle between all versions and only the latest version of an item by clicking Toggle All Versions in the History view.

Configure Properties

You can configure which properties to display for each view in the thin client. The administrator can enforce the default properties, preventing you from configuring your views. If the Configure Properties button is not visible, the administrator is enforcing which properties are displayed.

  1. Click Configure Properties for the view you want to configure.
  2. In the Available Properties list, select the properties you want to display and then click Add to move them to the list on the right side. In the Selected Properties list, select the properties you want removed and then click Remove.
  3. Select a property and then click Move Up or Move Down to adjust its display order.
Note: Press CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple properties.
  4. Click Save.

You can always return to the set of properties originally chosen by the administrator.

  1. Click Reset to Defaults.
  2. Click Save.

Paging

The thin client displays objects using paging. A certain number of objects are initially displayed. If you scroll to the bottom of the page and there are more objects to display, additional objects are automatically loaded. Each time you reach the bottom of a the page, the next batch of objects are loaded until everything is displayed. By default, the number of objects loaded each time is 200. You can change paging options in the Administration dialog in the Autodesk Data Management Server console.
