The frequency with which a prompt is displayed can be specified at the time that the prompt is displayed.
If you expand the prompt, you can select:
- Always Prompt
- Never Prompt
If you select Never Prompt, the response you select for the prompt is set as the default response and the command is performed automatically using the default response without prompting you from this point forward.
You can also manage the prompt responses and automation in the Manage Prompts dialog box. In addition to the default responses, you can also specify how often a prompt is displayed. By combining the default response for the most common prompts as well as when you are prompted for a response, you can automate elements of your workflow, creating a transparent vault experience.
Manage Prompts
- Select Options from the Autodesk Vault ribbon.
- In the Options dialog box, click Prompts.
- In the Manage Prompts dialog box, select a command. The dialog lists all the prompts related to most file-based commands such as checking out and checking in. The text for the related prompt is displayed in the column next to it as well as at the bottom of the dialog.
- The Response column shows the current default response for the prompt. Select a default response from the drop-down list.
- The Frequency column shows how often the prompt is displayed during a work session. If the frequency is set to Always Prompt, the dialog box is always displayed with the selected response highlighted. Select Never Prompt to carry out the command related to the prompt using the selected response without ever displaying the dialog box.
