Copy Design–Drawing View (Vault 2015 R2)

Drawing View is a configuration mode that lets you assign individual copy actions to drawings.

Default Behavior for Associated Drawings

By default, associated drawings receive the same copy action as the associated file. This linked action is denoted by a value of Auto in the Action column.

For example, if a file is marked for copy and the associated drawing is marked as Auto, the drawing receives the same new file name and save location as the associated file when the copy operation completes.

Turn Drawing View On or Off

Turn on the Drawing View option to be able to assign individual copy actions to drawings.

• Select the Master Menu and click Drawing View to turn it on.

  A check mark beside the option indicates that it is turned on.

  Select the option again to turn it off.

In Model View, documentation set to Auto takes the same name as the dependent file being replaced or copied. This can result in file name duplication. Turn on Drawing View to help resolve file naming conflicts.
