Definition/modification of openings

Using the Opening definition dialog, you can define or modify an opening for a predefined opening type (such as windows and doors):

Rectangular opening

H = height

B = width

Round opening

D = diameter

Pentagon-shaped opening

h, H = heights

B = width

Arc-shaped opening

h, H = heights

B = width

Section of an arbitrary shape:

Define - in the drawing area, click to specify points that define the opening shape.

Select - in the drawing area, select a polyline (created with AutoCAD®) that forms a closed contour.

To add a new opening to the list of openings available in Autodesk AutoCAD Structural Detailing - Formwork Drawings:

  1. Click an opening type icon
  2. For Name, enter the opening name
  3. Specify the opening dimensions
  4. Click OK.

When defining an arbitrarily-shaped section, specify the name of the opening, and click either Define or Select.
