After you define the brace geometry use the Connection to girder tab to define parameters of the connection.
If Fit rib height to the girder profile is selected, a rib will be fitted to the space between the flanges of a girder profile.
A connection of the brace with the girder takes the form of a rib welded to the girder (along the whole girder height or only along its part), and the brace is fixed to this rib. To define this connection, specify the following parameters:
- Rib thickness
- Materials
- Rib dimensions (height and width of the rib)
- Dimension of the rib chamfer
- Parameters of bolts and bolt openings
- Distance of the first fastener from the end of the brace element (dimension A in the drawing below)
- Distances between fasteners (dimensions B in the drawing below)
- Distance between the fastener line and the edge of the brace profile (dimension C in the drawing below)
- Values of weld thickness
