Create the Property Definitions

We will create a solid property for the ply material and a cohesive property for the Helius PFA cohesive material.

First, create the solid property:

1. From the Element Properties form on the Properties tab, select Create, 3D, Solid.
2. Click psolid.1 from the available sets.
3. Fill out the Input Properties dialog as shown below and click OK:

   

4. Click Apply and click OK to overwrite the existing definition.

Now, create the cohesive property:

1. From the Element Properties form on the Properties tab, select Create, 2D, 2D Solid.
2. Enter pcohe.2 in the Property Set Name box.
3. Specify the Plane Strain and Interface options and click the Input Properties button.
4. Fill out the Input Properties dialog as shown below and click OK:

   

5. Click the Select Application Region button and type Elem 1201:2400 in the Select Members box.
6. Click Add to add the elements to the Application Region and click OK.
7. Click Apply to create the cohesive property.
