The Create Cohesive Material plug-in defines the complete material response for the Helius PFA cohesive material. In this example we'll use the Quadratic Traction damage initiation and the Mixed Mode Power Law Energy Based damage evolution criterion.
- Click the HELIUS button and choose Create Cohesive Material.
- Give the cohesive material an ID of 1.
- Enter the following stiffnesses and tractions (MPa):
- Knn = 8.3E+07
- Kss = 5.3E+07
- Ktt = 5.3E+07
- Sn = 3.5
- Ss = 11
- St = 11
- Select the Quadratic Traction initiation criterion and Energy (Mixed Mode - Power Law) softening type.
- Enter the following fracture energies:
- Mode I = 0.100
- Mode II = 0.475
- Mode III = 0.475
- Enter 1.2 for Alpha and click OK.
