Define the Element Coordinate System

To orient the plies and the cohesive section, a local coordinate system needs to be defined.

1. Click the Geometry tab and specify Create, Coord, 3Point.
2. In the Coord ID List box, name the coordinate system 11 and set the Type to Rectangular.
3. Set the Origin at [0 0 0], the Point on Axis 3 to [0 0 1], and the Point on Plane 1-3 as [1 0 0].
4. Click Apply.
