Advanced Copy tool

This tool groups several options for copying and moving objects.

Access the Advanced Copy command

Tools tool palette:

Command line: _ASTransformAndConnect

Copy an object at a defined distance

1. Select the objects to copy.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Copy .
4. In the top-left panel of the dialog box enter the displacement in each direction.

   You can use the to select the reference point on the screen

5. Enter the number of copies.

Move objects using two points

1. Select the objects to move.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Move .
4. In the top-left panel of the dialog box click . The dialog box temporarily closes.
5. Specify the base point.
6. Specify the end point.

The selected objects are moved to the location determined by the direction and the distance between the two points.

Move objects using a displacement

1. Select the objects to move.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Move .
4. In the top-left panel of the dialog box, enter the displacements on each direction.

The selected objects are moved to a new location determined by the relative coordinate values you enter.

Mirror objects in 2D

1. Select the objects to mirror.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Mirror .
4. In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 2D .
5. Click to define the mirror line. The dialog box temporarily closes.
6. Click the first point of the mirror line.
7. Click the second point of the mirror line.
8. In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.

Mirror objects in 3D

1. Select the objects to mirror.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Mirror .
4. In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 3D .
5. Click to define the mirroring plane. The dialog box temporarily closes.
6. Click three points defining the mirroring plane.
7. In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.

Rotate objects in 2D

1. Select the objects to rotate.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Rotate .
4. In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 2D .
5. Click to define the rotation center and angle. The dialog box temporarily closes.
6. Specify the rotation center using the mouse or by coordinates.
7. Enter the rotation angle.
8. In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.

Rotate objects in 3D

1. Select the objects to rotate.
2. Tools tool palette: click .
3. In the Transform elements dialog box select Rotate .
4. In the top-right panel of the dialog box, select 3D .
5. Click to define the rotation axis and angle. The dialog box temporarily closes.
6. Specify the first point of the rotation axis.
7. Specify the second point of the rotation axis.
8. Enter the rotation angle.
9. In the Transform elements dialog box select Delete source objects if you want to erase the source objects.
