With the Dimension Label feature you can improve dimensions by assigning labels to the dimension line. The label can contain information related to the object as well as free user text. Label position can be configured from the Drawing Styles Manager or from the properties page of existing dimensions. Currently only linear and aligned dimensions support this option.
You can format the label text the same way you format the dimension value text.
Dimension lines are automatically extended with the label text length when the label is placed before or after the dimension line. You can easily modify the label position after you create it, using a grip point attached to the text.
Also you can combine dimensions with identical labels. Label placement modifications are kept after update
Adding a dimension label in the Drawing Style Manager will apply it automatically on the detail drawing when the style is used.
Any change made in A area is correlated with an image change in B area and it gives you a preview of what you will see on your detail drawings.
A and B areas - details
C area - details
You can configure what to display in dimension label using this control:
The Dimension Value token is recommended to be used with the label placement: Custom dimension value for correct display and functionality.
This token represents the dimension value for each dimension text and can be used for cases where you want to combine custom tokens with the dimension value.
You can browse through the contextual menu and choose which tokens to display in detail drawings.
