To Work with Radial Dimensions

Create radius or diameter dimensions of arcs or circles. Control the centerlines, center marks, and extension lines of radial dimensions.

Create a Radius or Diameter Dimension

  1. Click Annotate tabDimensions panelDimension. Find
  2. Select an arc or a circle.
  3. At the prompt, enter r (Radius) or enter d (Diameter).
  4. Before specifying the dimension line location, you can edit or rotate the text.
  5. Click to place the dimension line.
  6. Repeat steps to continue dimensioning or press Enter to end dimensioning.

Create a Jogged Radius Dimension

  1. Click Annotate tabDimensions panelDimension. Find
  2. Hover over an arc or a circle.
  3. At the prompt, enter j (Jogged).
  4. Select the arc or circle.
  5. Click to specify a point for the false-center dimension origin, called the center location override.
  6. Click to specify a point for the dimension line angle.
  7. Click to specify the location of the dimension jog.
  8. Repeat steps to continue dimensioning or press Enter to end dimensioning.

Add a Centerline or Center Mark

  1. Click Home tabAnnotation panelDimension Style. Find
  2. In the Dimension Style Manager, select the style you want to change. Click Modify.
  3. In the Modify Dimension Style dialog box, Symbols and Arrows tab, under Center Marks, click Mark or Line, enter the length for the center mark and centerline overshoot, and click OK.
  4. Click Close.
  5. Click Annotate tabDimensions panelDimension. Find
  6. Hover over an arc or a circle.
  7. At the prompt, enter c (Center mark).
  8. Select the arc or circle.
