To Set Up a Direct Oracle Configuration Using OLE DB
At the Command prompt, enter
dbconnect
.
On the dbConnect Manager, right-click Data Sources and click Configure Data Source.
In the Configure a Data Source dialog box, do one of the following:
Create a data source.
In the Data Source Name box, enter a name for the data source. Click OK.
Edit an existing data source.
In the Data Sources list box, select a data source. Click OK.
In the Data Link Properties dialog box, Provider tab, select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle. Click Next.
In the Select or Enter a Server Name box, enter the Oracle server name.
In the User Name and Password boxes, enter a valid user name and password.
Click Test Connection to verify that the settings are correct.
For example, spelling errors and case sensitivity may be the cause of a failed connection.
Click OK.
