You can generate a ground conflict report in any version of Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, but in systems that do not support surfaces, the ground is assumed to be a flat plane.
If surfaces have not been assigned, you will see the Assign Surfaces dialog.
When the analysis is complete the locations that are in danger of hitting, or have hit the ground, will be indicated with ground proximity contours. The contours are currently drawn at hard-coded intervals 50 mm or 2 in. apart. The contours are colored as follows:
Over 100 mm ground clearance | (no color) |
50 to 100 mm clearance | green |
0 to 50 mm clearance | yellow |
0 to 50 mm ground penetration | orange |
50 to 100 mm penetration | magenta |
Over 100 mm penetration | red |
Within each zone of conflict, the location of the critical point, which is the point of maximum ground penetration or minimum ground clearance, is shown along with the value.
A profile, or cross-section, is automatically generated at each critical point. These profiles are stacked at the lower right hand extent of the drawing. The precise critical point is also indicated on these profiles.
The report is saved in the drawing, but if the path is altered in any way, the report will disappear and need to be regenerated. This is a safeguard to minimize the risk of using data that is out of date.
