In the Control Overlay section, the Foreground Color is used for the lines on the control overlay, and the Background Color should be set to provide good visual contrast.
The Control Position setting has several standard locations to choose from at the center, bottom, or top of the screen. To specify a non-standard location, select Custom and then click the Position button. The control overlay appears and can be adjusted for location and size like any resizable window. When you are content with the appearance, click the Stop button to return to the System Settings dialog.
Steering Response and Speed Response are set to Parabolic by default. With this setting, the control is weighted to be more responsive at smaller angles and slower speeds. You can select a Linear response if you find that more natural.
By default the left mouse button is the pick and drive button and the right button toggles hands off, as might be used by a right handed person. If you want to switch these button functions, you can select Left-Hand Drive.
With the setting Hold Button Down To Drive, the vehicle moves only while you are holding the mouse button down. If you clear the box, the vehicle moves as soon as the cursor moves outside the stop zone.
Auto Undo Distance is the length of path that is erased when you click the Auto Undo button on the control overlay. A small distance is recommended, as Auto Undo is not reversible.
The setting Show Trail While Driving leaves a trail behind the vehicle to clearly show the path. If this option is selected, also select a suitable Trail Color to display on the background color.
